CFB: Cowboys sink Glanville's Vikings

LAKE CHARLES, La. — No. 3 tailback Kris Bush had two of McNeese State's three rushing touchdowns and Derrick Fourroux had touchdown passes of 51 and 15 yards as the Cowboys beat Portland State 35-12 today.

Bush, who started the game behind Toddrick Pendland and Jamie Leonard, had touchdown runs of 3 and 16 yards for the Cowboys in the season opener for both teams.

Fourroux's long TD throw was to Immanuel Friddle and the other to Steven Whitehead. He was 11-of-23 for 191 yards.

All 12 of Portland State's points were on field goals by Chris Chalmers. Former University of Hawai'i defensive coordinator Jerry Glanville is now the Vikings' head coach.

The Cowboys held Portland State to minus-10 yards rushing.
