Wet morning should give way to sun this afternoon

Advertiser Staff

Locally heavy but brief showers will continue over O'ahu for the next few hours, according to the National Weather Service.

Since the trade winds are blowing, these showers will effect mainly the east half of the island, including the Windward Coast, Koolau Mountains, Central O'ahu and the South Shore.

The showers may be heavy enough to reduce visibility and cause ponding on roadways, forecasters said. If you are driving on O'ahu be careful, they urge.

Here's how the next few days look:

Today, partly cloudy with scattered showers, some briefly heavy. Highs 80 to 88. East winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Tonight, partly cloudy with isolated showers. Lows 70 to 76. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Sunday, sunny with isolated showers. Highs 81 to 89. East winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Sunday night, partly cloudy with isolated showers. Lows 69 to 75. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Labor Day, sunny. Highs 81 to 89. East winds 10 to 15 mph.

Monday night, mostly clear with isolated showers. Lows 69 to 75. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.
