Look mostly for sun and a few showers this week

A high pressure system north of the state will keep moderate trade winds blowing through out the coming week, according to the National Weather Service.

Showers will favor windward and mauka areas as well as the Kona slopes of the Big Island each afternoon, forecasters said.

An upper level low pressure area northwest of Kauai may produce an isolated heavy shower on the garden isle before moving off to the west this afternoon.

Here's what to expect the next few days:

Today, sunny. Isolated showers until mid morning. Highs 81 to 89. East winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Tonight, mostly clear. Isolated showers in the evening. Lows 69 to 75. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Labor Day, sunny. Highs 81 to 89. East winds 10 to 15 mph.

Monday night, partly cloudy. Isolated light showers in the evening. Lows 69 to 75. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Tuesday, sunny. Highs 81 to 89. East winds 10 to 15 mph.
