Bush still expected to stop in Hawaii Sept. 8

Advertiser Staff

Bush has made an unannounced visit to Iraq today.

The president was expected to be in Hawaii this afternoon for a fuel stop on his way to the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation meeting in Sydney, Australia.

The Secret Service in Hawaii said last week that the president would be at Hickam Air Force Base for a fuel stop from 3:05 to 4:35 p.m. this afternoon.

A White House spokesman said this morning that the president is still scheduled to stop in Hawaii on Sept. 8 when he returns from Sydney. He is expected to have lunch with troops at an undisclosed location during that 3 1/2 hour layover.
