Pussycat doll in town to promote CD

Wai'anae-born Nicole Scherzinger, lead vocalist for the Pussycat Dolls, was in Honolulu this weekend promoting her upcoming debut solo CD.
The 29-year-old singer/dancer hosted Saturday's The Monkey Bar at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki's Ciao Mein restaurant and poolside bar.
Her debut solo CD, "Her Name is Nicole," is set for a Nov. 6 release on Interscope Records.
On it, she has a song with Akon titled "Puakenikeni," a nod to her Hawaiian heritage.
Scherzinger, whose middle name is Elikolani, is of Hawaiian, Russian and Filipino descent.
