Rocheleau finishes first in paddleboard division

Brian Rocheleau finished first in the unlimited paddleboard division of the 18th annual Hale'iwa Joe's Labor Day Paddleboard Race yesterday.

Rocheleau completed the 4.5-mile course from Waimea Bay to Ali'i Beach in 39 minutes, 28 seconds.

Kai Hall had the top time in the stock paddleboard division in 41:51 and Aaron Napoleon led the stand-up division in 40:16.

Tickets are on sale for the 2007 Western Athletic Conference Tournament, Nov. 15 to 17 at Pan American Center in Las Cruces, N.M.

An "Early Bird" promotion for all-session tickets offers a 20-percent discount through September. Prices are now $20 for adults, $16 for seniors (65-older) and $8 for children (18-under). An all-session pass is good for eight matches in four sessions.

Single-session tickets are also on sale, at $10 (adults), $8 (seniors) and $4 (children). All seats are general admission.

To purchase all-session tickets, call 866-672-8524 or the Pan Am ticket office (505-646-1420). Single-session tickets are available by calling Ticketmaster at 915-544-8444 or 505-532-2060, or online (www.ticketmaster.com). There is a service charge for Ticketmaster online sales.

WAC fans can also obtain special room rates at select Las Cruces hotels.

UCSD BLANKS HPU

Alexia Zatarain scored two goals and assisted on another as fifth-ranked UC San Diego beat Hawai'i Pacific, 5-0, yesterday in a women's match at HPU's Atherton Field.

The Tritons are 2-0. Veronica Ellman had 15 saves off 42 UCSD shots for the Sea Warriors (0-3).
