Small swells lingering along Hawaii's north shores

Advertiser Staff

Surf along O'ahu's south-facing shores will be 2 feet to 4 feet today.

West-facing shores, 2 feet or less. East-facing shores, 2 feet to 4 feet.

Surf along north-facing shores is expected to rise to heights of 3 feet to 5 feet.

Outlook through Sunday: Small, short-period swells from the north will linger through the week. A series of small south swells are expected through the week, according to the National Weather Service's current forecast.

Surf heights are forecast heights of the face or front of waves. The surf forecast is based on the significant wave height in the zone of maximum refraction. Some waves may be more than twice as high as the significant wave height. Expect to encounter rip currents in or near any surf zone.
