Wai'anae's Ma'o Organic Farm approached chef Alan Wong about doing a fundraiser for the nonprofit. Coming up is the Pineapple Room's eighth anniversary. Wong did the math and the result is "Feast for the Senses," a stand-up pupu party at the Pineapple Room to benefit Wai'anae's Ma'o Organic Farm from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 23.

Food and flowers will complement each other at the event, held in conjunction with "Neo Tropica," two floral design shows put on by internationally renown designer Hitomi Gilliam of Canada. The floral demonstrations also benefit Ma'o.

The floral designs from the demos will color the Pineapple Room for "Fest of the Senses." In addition, Stanton Ho of Chocolate a la Carte in Valencia, Calif., will create sugar and chocolate sculptures. Alan Wong will do an ice sculpture enhanced with arrangements by Gilliam — a collaboration of artists.

Price: $125 per person.
