Lillian Koller, director of the state's Human Services Department, was on the Hot Seat today for a live blog chat.

Koller's efforts to see movement on the case of Peter Boy Kema resulted in the release of new information about what his siblings saw; and the case of a 12-year-old Honolulu girl who was placed in the state's care after she was found emaciated and malnourished has sparked questions about following up on child abuse cases. The girl had been in state care before but had been returned to her parents after they took required parenting classes.
