Little Kitchens food event slated for Oct. 12

Some of O'ahu's best smaller eateries will be serving food and drink at the third annual Little Kitchens, organized by the Honolulu Weekly, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Oct. 12 at the Hawai'i State Art Museum.

In the lineup are: Downtown, Town, Ma'o Organic Farms, Green Door Cafe, Olive Tree, Honolulu Chocolate Company, Soy to the World, La Gelateria, BluWater Grill, 12th Avenue Grill, Big Wave Tomatoes, Mi Casa Taqueria and Mercado de la Raza.

The event highlights homegrown flavors and culinary products. The Museum galleries will remain open for the duration of the event and Newjass Quartet will play.

"Little Kitchens" will also feature beverages from Fujioka's, Kona Brewing Co., Kele's Coffee, Waialua Soda Works, with a Martini Bar sponsored by Better Brands.

A silent auction will be held as a benefit for Slow Food O'ahu, which supports local schoolyard gardens and the promotion of local agriculture.

Advance sale tickets are $55 and are available at Liquor Collection, Fujioka's, Oliver (next to Olive Tree) and at Honolulu Weekly, 1111 Fort Street Mall. This is a 21 and over event.
