Online job ads show tight labor market in Hawaii

Advertiser Staff

There were almost as many job vacancies as online help-wanted ads in Hawai'i during August, according to a survey by the Conference Board, a New York business and economic research organization.

The survey found there were 1.06 jobless residents for each online ads. That was the 12th lowest rate in the nation, according to Conference Board data. There were nine states with rates with less than 1, meaning there were fewer unemployed people than vacancies. The national average was 1.85.
