Hawaii Living Reef Awards tickets are on sale

The Coral Reef Outreach Network has begun selling tickets for the third annual Hawai'i Living Reef Awards, which will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 21 at the Honolulu Elks Lodge, 2933 Kalakaua Ave.The annual awards program honors businesses, organizations, and community leaders who have, through their actions, demonstrated significant care to protect and nurture Hawai'i's coral reef ecosystem. The awards are open to all Hawai'i-based organizations, provided they have implemented programs and activities to conserve coral reefs between Jan. 1, 2006 and Dec. 31, 2006.
Tickets are available for $25 per person if purchased before September 10, and $30 if purchased afterwards. Ticket includes a buffet dinner and no-host cocktails. The 2007 nominees include individuals in businesses across seven individual categories. One winner will be selected from each category and will receive a custom-designed award by Tiffany & Co., Inc. Nominees include:
