Pairing dishes with the right wines is all about taste, not rocket science. Honolulu's first "Find the Wine!" event, hosted by Cassis Wine Bar and Gourmet Cooking Hawaii, helps guests discover their preferences in an entertaining culinary experience.

Chef Mavro and executive chef Ben Takahashi have created four dishes to be served — heavy-pupu style — each with a blind tasting of two possible wines. Guests have only one job — to notice which of the two wine and food combinations they prefer.

Todd Ashline, sommelier at Chef Mavro, and Collin Darrell, sommelier at Cassis, will orchestrate the evening and add commentary.

6-7:30 p.m. Saturday, Cassis Wine Bar, $65. "Find the Wine!" also can be arranged for private groups, 735-7788.

The one-hour special airs at 7 p.m. tomorrow and 9 p.m. Sunday on KHNL, and at 7 p.m. Sept. 11 on KFVE.
