Mayor Charmaine Tavares has scheduled public meetings on the fiscal 2009 budget. Most of the Maui meetings begin at 5:30 p.m. with hearings on Community Development Block Grants, followed by budget meetings at 6 p.m. Meetings in Hana, and on Lana'i and Moloka'i start at 5 and 5:30 p.m.

Meetings will be held today at the Velma Santos Community Center, Wailu-ku; tomorrow, Helene Hall, Hana; Tuesday, Kihei Community Center; Sept. 12, Mayor Hannibal Tavares Community Center; Sept. 13, Mitchell Pauole Center; Sept. 18, Lahaina Civic Center; Sept. 19, Ha'iku Community Center; Sept. 20, Lana'i Community Center.
