Amy Gilliom heads to New York, after 4 Michel's shows

Amy Hanaiali'i Gilliom, Na Hoku Hanohano Award-winning and Grammy-nominated Island performer and recording artist, will preview her New York-bound show with four performances at 9 p.m. Oct. 2, 3, 4 and 5 at Michel's at the Colony Surf.

Gilliom, whose "Generation Hawai'i" CD has been a local favorite, also has re-recorded tracks for a "Generation U.S.A." spinoff version with maestro Matt Catingub.

Catingub will be part of the ensemble working with Gilliom at Michel's; the others include Jeff Peterson, David "Chino" Montero and Steve Jones, with whom Gilliom will work in an October gig at Feinstein's at the Regency in New York City.

Tickets: $40, includes one standard drink and selected pupu.
