Japan Airlines, ANA cancel flights because of typhoon

Japan Airlines Corp. canceled 79 flights as Japan issued warnings for high waves, strong winds and flooding as Typhoon Fitow approached Tokyo, Bloomberg News reported.

Japan Airlines' cancellations affected 17,580 people, according to a fax from the company, Bloomberg said. All Nippon Airways Co. canceled 68 flights, affecting 14,300 people, the airline said by fax.
