A Kailua Jack in the Box worker has been indicted on three counts of sexually assaulting a 19-year-old woman July 31 in the Oneawa Street restaurant.

Elia A. Hauanio, 23, was ordered held in lieu of $100,000 bail by Circuit Judge Derrick Chan after the indictment was returned this morning.

Hauanio has 17 previous arrests and entered a deferred guilty plea to vehicle theft in 2004, according to Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Vickie Kapp.

A judge in the earlier case ordered Hauanio to stay trouble-free for five years or risk jail time.

The indictment charges Hauanio with one count each of first-, second- and third-degree sex assault.
