KILAUEA — Two Kaua'i residents were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Kilauea Wednesday afternoon. Their current condition is not known.

A preliminary report indicates that a man in a pickup truck was stopped on the eastern side of the Pili Road and Kuhi'o Highway junction waiting to cross the highway to the western side when he was struck by a man in a red sedan who was traveling north-bound on Kuhi'o Highway.

The man in the red sedan sustained serious injuries, while the man in the pickup truck sustained minor injuries. Both men were taken in an ambulance to Wilcox Hospital for treatment.

It is not know if speed and/or alcohol were factors in the crash.
