Despite a double-eagle on his final hole today, Honolulu's Tadd Fuijkawa missed the cut at the Omega European Masters at Crans-sur-Sierre, Crans Montana, Switzerland.

Fujikawa, a 16-year-old Moanalua High junior, shot a 4-over-par 75 during the second round and finished tied for 133rrd at 10-over 152. The cut was at 2 over par.

Oliver Wilson shot a 66 for a one-stroke lead at 131.

Fujikawa, who started on the back nine, double-eagled the par-5 No. 9 with a shot from 285 yards using a 3-wood.

"A happy memory, for sure," Fujikawa said. "I was pretty sure it would be on the green at least. But I didn't know it would go in the hole. I couldn't see it, but I heard it from the crowd. I could definitely tell it went in. It was pretty nice to finish like that."

After four consecutive pars to start the round, Fujikawa double-bogeyed the par-5 No. 14 and had consecutive bogeys at the Nos. 16 to 18 for a 40. He bogeyed Nos. 5 and 6 on the front nine.

He described his two rounds in Switzerland as "a really good experience."

"You learn that you need to stay patient out there and you have to trust your shots," Fujikawa said. "For sure you need a lot of experience. This is my third event as a pro and I need more experience to play well, I think."

Cold weather yesterday delayed play and caused the first round to be suspended because of darkness. Fujikawa finished his first round today with a 6-over 77 and was tied for 118th in the field of 153.

Fujikawa was playing in his third professional tournament. He received a sponsor's exemption to the European Masters, the most prestigious event on the European Tour after the British Open.

Fujikawa is scheduled to play in the Nationwide Tour's Albertsons Boise Open Sept. 20 to 23.
