Gentle winds, sunny days expected to stay a while

A light wind pattern, with windward trades and leeward sea breezes, will continue today, according to the National Weather Service.

The winds are expected to increase slightly over the weekend, forecasters said.

Relatively dry weather will linger across the smaller islands through Saturday with more showers expected across windward portions of the Big Island.

Here's a closer look at what to expect:

Today, mostly sunny with isolated showers. Highs 81 to 89. East winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Tonight, partly cloudy with isolated showers. Lows 68 to 74. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Saturday, sunny with isolated showers. Highs 81 to 88. East winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Saturday night, partly cloudy with isolated showers. Lows 69 to 75. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Sunday, mostly sunny with isolated showers. Highs 81 to 89. East winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.
