Hawaii stocks follow broader market in decline

The Bloomberg-Honolulu Advertiser Hawai'i Index dropped 2.18 points as it moved with the broader market in reacting to a government report that showed payrolls in August fell for the first time in four years. Analysts had been expecting a rise in payrolls.The index of 11 Hawai'i stocks ended trading at 100.14, down 2.13 percent. The decline was led by Alexander & Baldwin Inc., which fell $1.91 to $50.18.
