Tennis: Aspelin, Knowle win U.S. Open men's doubles

NEW YORK Simon Aspelin of Sweden and Julian Knowle of Austria won their first Grand Slam title today, beating Lukas Dlouhy and Pavel Vizner of the Czech Republic 7-5, 6-4 in the U.S. Open men's doubles final.This was only the third major doubles event for the Aspelin-Knowle pairing. This is their first year together.
Dlouhy and Vizner also lost in the French Open final.
"The last two days, Julian and I have been playing great," Aspelin said. "I felt a little nervous coming out here."
They won $400,000 for taking the title.
Knowle was competing in his second Grand Slam doubles final he and Nenad Zimonjic lost in the 2004 Wimbledon title match.
