Golfers get shot at million today

Advertiser Staff

Fourteen of the 200-plus golfers taking part in today's 14th Annual Marriott Links to Literacy Golf Tournament will have a chance to win $1 million in a "Marriott Million Hole-in-One" shootout that will precede the tournament at the Ko Olina Golf Club.

Each of the randomly selected 14 will get one shot to make a hole-in-one from 150 yards away on the 18th hole of the course.

A player hitting a hole-in-one will be awarded $500,000, with the remaining $500,000 going to the Friends of the Library.

Last year's tournament raised a record $120,000 for the Friends. To date, the event has raised $800,000.
