Motorcyclist critically hurt in Kaneohe Bay Drive crash

Advertiser Staff

A 37-year-old man driving a motorcycle suffered critical injuries when he crashed early this morning along Kane'ohe Bay Drive, police said.

Traffic investigators said the man was headed west — toward Kane'ohe — when he failed to negotiate a sharp left-hand bend in the road near Malukai Place.

Police said the man and his 2006 Husqvarna blue-and-yellow motorcycle clipped a low rock wall. Investigators said speed did not appear to be a factor and the road was dry and moderately lit at that hour. It is unknown of alcohol or drugs were involved.

The incident was reported about 1:38 a.m.

Police said the driver was taken to The Queen's Medical Center with head injuries and was last reported in critical condition.
