Mayor names Gee executive assistant on housing

Advertiser Staff

Mayor Mufi Hannemann yesterday announced that he has named Raenette S. Gee as his administration's executive assistant on housing.

"I'm very pleased that Rae Gee is joining the ... administration to lend her leadership and experience to our housing activities," Hannemann said. "While the City no longer has a housing department and has no plans to reestablish itself as a developer, we still own a dozen affordable housing properties and the city continues to actively support the development of housing through federal grants and rental subsidies, planning and zoning, permitting, and infrastructure projects," the mayor said.

"We'll look to Rae to help coordinate the City's involvement in all aspects of affordable housing management and development, as well as help in our planning for the transit-oriented development that will accompany the construction of our mass transit system."

Gee was a planner with the city Department of Housing during the previous administration and was a researcher with the Hawaii Real Estate Center. Her City service has included serving as a planner with the managing director, Department of Transportation Services, Honolulu Police Department, Department of Parks and Recreation, and Department of Community Services.

Gee is a graduate of the University of Hawaii.
