Preps: Woodbridge, Hilo's Turner win BIIF meet

Woodbridge High School of California won the boys and girls team races at a Big Island Interscholastic Federation cross country meet yesterday at Hawai'i Preparatory Academy in Kamuela.

Woodbridge, located in Irvine, had the top six finishers in the girls race, led by Christine Babcock, who finished the three-mile course in 18 minutes, 53 seconds. Teammate Sarah Toberty was second in 21:20.

Jennie Barto of Konawaena was seventh in 22:56.

Woodbrige had 15 points. Hawai'i Prep was second with 53.

Hilo's Mark Turner won the boys race in 17:24, nine seconds ahead of Shane Berglas of Woodbridge.

Woodbridge placed four runners in the top 10 to win with 38 points. Hawai'i Prep was second with 114.
