Hawaii's Higa earns WAC soccer honor

University of Hawai'i junior defender Tehane Higa was named the Western Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week today, the second straight week a Rainbow Wahine earned a weekly honor.Higa was the MVP of the Outrigger Hotels & Resorts Soccer Classic this past weekend after leading the Rainbow Wahine to the title with a 2-2 double overtime tie with Pacific Friday and a 3-0 win over Tennessee-Martin yesterday, in which she scored a second-half goal on a penalty kick.
Freshman utility player Mari Punzal was the WAC Offensive Player of the Week last week.
