Moanalua Valley's new siren to be tested this morning

Advertiser Staff

The city's Department of Emergency Management, in conjunction with Hawai'i State Civil Defense, will test a newly installed siren in Moanalua Valley at 10:30 this morning. This test aims to ensure proper functioning and area coverage of the Moanalua Valley siren.

This new unit is solar-powered, battery-operated and designed to function independently of O'ahu's electrical grid.

Residents of Moanalua Valley may hear several 20-second siren soundings during the testing period. The siren test is scheduled to be completed by 11:30 a.m.
