UH-Hilo to host acclaimed trade economist

Advertiser Staff

The University of Hawai'i at Hilo's College of Business and Economics is hosting a presentation by nationally acclaimed international trade economist Robert Baldwin tomorrow.

Baldwin will provide commentary on the World Trade Organization's efforts to liberalize trade in the Doha Development Round.

Named for its first ministerial meeting in Doha, Qatar, in 2001, the Doha round was meant to lower trade barriers through negotiations to open agricultural and manufacturing markets. Talks have stalled over a divide between developed countries and the major developing countries.

The public is invited to the 5 p.m. event at the UH-Hilo Campus Center Room 301.
