Nohelani Cypriano kicks off Pagoda showcase

The Pagoda Hotel and Restaurant will bring back Island entertainment to its Rycroft Street property, with an Aloha Friday showcase in the second-floor La Salle Lounge starting this Friday. Entertainer Nohelani Cypriano and her Cypriano Productions is behind the venture. "Years ago, the Pagoda Hotel was noted for giving many successful entertainers their start, such as (magician) David Copperfield, John Rowles and many other local, legendary artists," said Cypriano in a statement.La Salle, the upstairs lounge, will feature the following performers from 8 to 10 p.m. Fridays. The schedule:
i This Friday — Kaala Boys.
i Sept. 21 — Jon Osorio and Steve Brown.
i Sept. 28 — Ledward Kapana.
i Oct. 5 — Sean Naauao and Robi Kahakalau.
i Oct. 12 — Augie Rey.
i Oct. 19 — Melveen Leed.
i Oct. 26 — 'Ike Pono.
The hotel also will feature a guitarist and hula dancer, from 6 to 8 p.m. Fridays, at its main floor Floating Restaurant and Teahouse, overlooking the koi pond. A Hawaiian buffet will be served from 7 to 11 p.m.
