'Get the Drift and Bag It' event slated for Saturday

The Beach Environmental Awareness Campaign Hawaii is planning a a beach cleanup at Makapuu Beach from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday as part of "Get the Drift and Bag It," part of International Coastal Cleanup day.Participants in the worldwide annual event will collect marine debris from beaches and record what they find, allowing the Ocean Conservancy to compile, analyze and track this data year by year and make discoveries about the behaviors that cause the debris.
Bags, gloves, and water will be provided. A drawing for prizes from Kale's Natural Foods, Ben & Jerry's Hawaii will follow.
