HAWAI'I CONNECTION

  • Jason Elam, Broncos, kicker. The University of Hawai'i alum booted three field goals, including a 42-yarder as time expired, to lift Denver over Buffalo, 15-14. He also missed from 50 and 43 yards.

  • Ma'ake Kemoeatu, Panthers, defensive tackle. The Kahuku High alum started for Carolina and had two tackles and a deflected pass in the 27-13 win over St. Louis.

  • Travis LaBoy, Titans, defensive end. The former University of Hawai'i star had a sack in Tennessee's 13-10 win over Jacksonville.

  • Mat McBriar, Cowboys, punter. The University of Hawai'i alum punted twice for an average of 47.5 yards, with a long punt of 64, in Dallas' 45-35 win over the New York Giants.

  • Reagan Mauia, Dolphins, fullback. The University of Hawai'i alum had a tackle in Miami's 13-10 loss to Washington. He did not have any offensive statistics.

  • Kawika Mitchell, New York Giants. The linebacker, who was born in Honolulu, had one tackle and two assists in the Giants' 45-35 loss to Dallas.

  • Pisa Tinoisamoa, Rams, linebacker. The University of Hawai'i alum had three tackles (two solo) in St. Louis' 27-13 loss to Carolina.

    PASSING

  • Ben Roethlisberger, Steelers, threw a career-high four TD passes in Pittsburgh's 34-7 win at Cleveland.

  • Jake Delhomme, Panthers, finished 18-for-27 for 201 yards and three TDs in Carolina's 27-13 win over St. Louis.

  • Jay Cutler, Broncos, completed 23 of 39 passes for a career-high 304 yards in Denver's 15-14 win at Buffalo.

    RUSHING

  • Chris Brown, Titans, ran for 175 yards in Tennessee's 13-10 win over Jacksonville.

  • Shaun Alexander, Seahawks, playing pain-free for the first time since he broke his foot 12 months ago, ran for 105 yards and a TD in Seattle's 20-6 victory over Tampa

  • Clinton Portis, Redskins, had 17 carries for 98 yards and a TD in Washington's 16-13 overtime defeat of Miami.

  • Rookie Adrian Peterson, Vikings, rushed for 103 yards on 19 carries and turned a catch out of the backfield into a 60-yard TD in Minnesota's 24-3 win over Atlanta.

    RECEIVING

  • Randy Moss, Patriots, who caught nine passes for 183 yards and a TD in his New England debut, a 38-14 win over the New York Jets.

  • Antwaan Randle El, Redskins, had five catches for 162 yards in Washington's 16-13 overtime win over Miami.

  • Andre Johnson, Texans, had seven catches for 142 yards and a TD in Houston's 20-3 win over Kansas City.

    TODAY'S GAMES

  • Baltimore at Cincinnati, 1 p.m., ESPN: Willis McGahee makes his debut with the Ravens, who let Jamal Lewis leave as a free agent after going 13-3 last season. Chad Johnson, Carson Palmer and Bengals are trying to return to the playoffs.

  • Arizona at San Francisco, 4:15 p.m., ESPN: A matchup of high-profile QBs Alex Smith (the first overall pick in 2004) and former USC star Matt Leinart (taken 10th the following year) who have become off-field buddies.
