Suspect in Punchbowl beating case arrested

Police today arrested a 26-year-old man for investigation of an assault that was reported Aug. 4.The man is acquainted with a woman, 30, who told police he beat her during an early morning argument at a Punchbowl location.
The woman suffered a fractured eye socket and bruising on the brain from the alleged beating.
The man, who fled before police arrived on Aug. 4, was located today and arrested on suspicion of first-degree assault after being identified by the victim.
