Advertiser Staff

About 260 Schofield Barracks soldiers with the 25th Combat Aviation Brigade are scheduled to return home tomorrow afternoon after more than a year in Iraq.

Beginning in late July 2006, the aviation brigade deployed about 2,400 soldiers to Iraq to conduct combat and support missions.

The brigade commanded more than 220 aircraft from Hawai'i and other U.S. bases and supported up to seven infantry, armor and Stryker brigade combat teams under the command of Multi-National Division-North.

The brigade logged more than 153,000 flight hours. More than 7,000 Schofield soldiers are returning from Iraq this month and in October after deploying in July and August of 2006.
