Saturday event will focus on plantation life, lessons

"Plantation memories: Stories of life with lessons for the future" is a panel discussion that will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Filipino Community Center in Waipahu.

The event is free and sponsored by the Filcom Center and the Filipino-American Historical Society of Hawaii.

Panelists Helen Nagtalon-Miller, Anna Navarrete Oshiro, Angel Ramos and Domingo Los Banos will discuss their Filipino-American experiences growing up and working in Hawai'i and abroad, both within and outside the plantation.
