Youth facility escapee caught in Waikiki

An escapee from the Hawai'i Youth Correctional Facility was found and arrested today in Waikiki.According to police, the boy was in possession of crystal methamphetamine at the time of his 11:15 a.m. arrest.
In addition to escape, the boy was booked as a juvenile for third-degree promotion of a dangerous drug.
State officials declared the boy an escapee Saturday at 7 p.m. when he failed to return to HYCF after being granted a day pass.
