PA'AUILO
Cut water use, residents asked

Advertiser Staff

A breakdown in the Pa'auilo well pump in Hamakua has prompted the county Department of Water Supply to ask customers in the area to restrict their water use.

Residents and businesses from Pa'auilo Makai to Kuka'iau Ranch are asked to cut their daily water consumption by 25 percent.

The water department will temporarily replenish the Pa'auilo tank using water tankers, but the water level is very low. Despite the pump problem, water officials said the daily needs for each household can be met if all residents cooperate.
