Surfer found dead off Big Island

A 58-year-old man died today while surfing off Isaac Hale Beach Park on the Big Island, the Hawai'i County fire department said.Beachgoers said the man had been seen surfing, but later was found floating face-down in the water at 11:42 a.m. Surfers and lifeguards brought him to shore, where lifeguards performed CPR. The man was taken to Hilo Medical Center, wher ehe was pronounced dead.
Officials classified the case as a possible drowning.
