Afghan judges here to observe Hawaii courts

Seven judges of the Afghanistan National Army are taking part in a court observer training program today in conjunction with the U.S. Defense Institute of International Legal Studies and the state judiciary.

The seven judges will meet with Chief Justice Ronald T.Y. Moon and other members of the Hawaii Supreme Court at 10:30 a.m. in the Supreme Court courtroom.

The Afghan judges will also be on Maui on Monday through Thursday observing court trials and learning about the American justice system.
