Disciplinary actions by state boards announced

The state Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs and the boards and commissions that oversee professions and vocations recently took disciplinary actions against individuals and businesses.

Board of Medical Examiners:

  • Dr. Harold C. Spear III, $2,000 fine and license suspended for at least one year.

    Pest Control Board:

  • Kama'aina Termite and Pest Control Inc. and Harry H. Kansaki, $1,750 fine.

    Motor Vehicle Industry Licensing Board:

  • Valley Isle Motors Ltd., $500 fine and $1,721 in restitution.

    Real Estate Commission:

  • Remax Kauai.com LLC, James G. Pycha and Jimmy Johnson, $1,000 fine for Remax and Pycha, $1,000 fine for Johnson.

  • Joyce M. White, $5,000 fine and license revoked.

  • Lily L.H. Hong, dba Diamond International Real Estate, $1,000 fine.

    Real Estate Appraiser Advisory Program:

  • Joanna Roskowick, $2,000 fine.

    Contractors License Board:

  • John Vidinha Jr., dba John Vidinha Jr. Septic Systems, $2,000 fine.

  • KJOS Builders Inc. and Jay O. Floan, $500 fine.

  • Rainbow Roof Maintenance Co. Inc. and Michael J. Roney, $7,000 fine.

  • Alvin A. Matsumoto and M. Construction and Design Inc., $500 fine.

  • Paradise Roofing Corp. and Don A. Gedge, $1,000 fine.

    Board of Nursing:

  • Maxine D. Smith, license revoked.
