Plans set for TheBoat riders to get free WiFi service

Advertiser Staff

Honolulu Mayor Mufi Hannemann today announced that riders of the city's new intra-island commuter ferry service, TheBoat, will enjoy free WiFi service within the next couple of weeks.

"This is just another amenity we want to provide for people who choose TheBoat option to make their morning and evening commutes," Hannemann said in a news release issued this evening. "Thanks go to the folks at D.R. Horton who have joined us in this public-private partnership."

TheBoat's service from Kalaeloa Harbor to Aloha Tower begins tomorrow morning. The first run is scheduled for 5:30 a.m. TheBoat passengers will be able to board city buses to complete their commute to downtown, Waikiki, and the UH Manoa.

"I look forward to welcoming the first wave of passengers at Aloha Tower," Hannemann said.
