Duke's Ukes winners announced

Duke's Waikiki has selected winners in four age categories in its 2nd annual Duke's Ukes Contest, which was held at the Waikiki restaurant.

First place winners received $100 gift certificates to Duke's and a Kamaka 'ukulele.

The finishers:

Elementary division: Micah Tong, first; Trini Leong, second; Tamlyn Tamura, third.

Intermediate division: TJ Mayeshiro, first; Jessica Self-Albert, second; Makana Valdez, third.

High school division: Kirk Shimabukuro, first; Rylan Tokioka, second; Daniel Nakashima, third.

Open divison: Shane Kono, first; Arden Fujiwara, second; Dickey Boy Canrohos Jr., third.

A Showman's Award went to Trini Leong. The prize included a $25 gift certificate to Duke's and two free music lessons from the Pacific School of Music.
