University of Hawai'i linebacker Solomon Elimimian was named Western Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced today.

Elimimian had 14 tackles, including seven unassisted stops, Saturday in a 49-14 victory at Nevada-Las Vegas.

"I'm honored and blessed," Elimimian said. "I want to thank my teammates, especially the defensive line. I think they did a great job. Whenever you get an honor, it's always for the team. Without them, it's not possible. A linebacker needs the defensive linemen to keep blockers off of him and a defensive coordinator to call the right scheme."

It was the third week in a row a Warrior has earned a player-of-the-week honor.

UH quarterback Colt Brennan earned offensive honors the past two weeks.

UH (3-0), ranked No. 19 in The Associated Press poll and No. 18 in the USA Today poll, plays Charleston Southern Saturday at Aloha Stadium.
