Hawaiian music legend honored in Washington today

Hawaiian music legend Eddie Kamae is one of 12 master artists from across the country who are being honored with the 2007 National Heritage Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts. Events include an award ceremony on Capitol Hill that took place at 10 a.m. this morning and a concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Music Center at Strathmore in Bethesda, Md.

The fellowship is the nation's highest honor in the folk and traditional arts.
