Honolulu police are asking for the public's help in identifying and finding a man in connection with an attempted kidnapping of a girl in Mililani on Monday.

The girl was walking on Anania Drive in Mililani at about 7 a.m. when she was approached by an unknown man who walked with her and tried to start a conversation, police said.

The girl told the suspect that she did not want to talk and asked him to leave.

The suspect then grabbed her arm and tried to push her into the hedges, police said. The girl was able to break free and called police.

Police described the man as 20 to 30 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall and 160 pounds. He wore long pants and a light gray, long-sleeved sweatshirt with the hood pulled over his head.
