Honolulu police tonight located a missing 73-year-old Canadian woman with the help from employees of a service station at the corner of Ward Avenue and Queen Street.

Margot Willis, who walked away early today from The Queen's Medical Center, was located shortly before 10 p.m. when the service station employees called police after recognizing the woman from photo bulletins released this afternoon.

"She's OK, no serious injuries are noted," said police missing persons investigator Philip Camero.

Willis, who suffers from dementia, did not return to her Victoria, British Columbia, home last Thursday from a trip to Australia.

According to her daughter, Paula Willis of Victoria, Margot Willis left Honolulu airport Thursday during a stopover "to see Honolulu."

Margot Willis, who had been staying at an airport-area hotel, was taken to Queen's recently after complaining of stomach problems.

Her daughter came to Hawai'i to take her mother home.

Paula Willis said when her mother became agitated after being checked out of the hospital last night, she took her back to Queen's early this morning to obtain medication.

While at the hospital, her mother walked off at about 3 a.m., Paula Willis said.
