Honolulu Council approves free ferry rides

Advertiser Staff

TheBoat, the city's new commuter ferry service, will offer free rides all next week.

The City Council gave the plan final approval today.

The ferry runs between Kalaeloa and Aloha Tower.

One boat began operations on Monday, and a second is expected to join the service next week.

Free rides will also be offered on five new bus lines that link the ferry to Kapolei, Makakilo, Wai'anae, Manoa and Waikiki.
