NANAKULI
Forum focuses on landfill woes

Advertiser Staff

Another public meeting regarding landfills on the Wai'anae Coast has been called — this one for tomorrow from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Nanakuli, 87-1948 Mohihi St.

The potential health hazards posed by landfills will be among the primary topics.

Area residents will express their concerns about how dust and debris affect respiratory ailments among both children and adults.

Rep. Karen Awana, who helped organize the meeting, has invited stakeholders, including members from city and county and state government, to come, listen and comment.

This will be the third landfill meeting in recent weeks.
