Hawaii International Film Festival ranks in top 50

The Louis Vuitton Hawaii International Film Festival, set for Oct. 18 to 28 in Honolulu, is one of the top 50 unmissable film festivals in the world, according to Variety, the show biz journal.Variety says of HIFF: "A celluloid bridge across the pan-Pacific region, the island fest is dedicated to Asian films and prides itself on its 'East Meets West' philosophy. Plus, with its base as one of the premier vacation spots in the world (with screenings on the beach!), discovering new filmmakers is as easy as the aloha lifestyle."
The top five film fests, of 1,000 operating around the globe, are Berlin, Cannes, Sundance, Toronto and Venice.
