Denise Brown speaking on domestic violence in Honolulu

Denise Brown, sister of the late Nicole Brown Simpson who was found murdered along with her friend Ronald Goldman in June 1994, will be a featured speaker Oct. 11 at a community session on domestic violence co-sponsored by The Queen's Medical Center and the Domestic Violence Clearinghouse.

Brown established the Nicole Brown Charitable Foundation in her sister's memory to assist victims of domestic violence.

Also appearing at the four-hour "Stop Domestic Violence: Working Together for Island Families" community session at the Queen's Conference Center are Nancy Kreidman, executive director of the Domestic Violence Clearinghouse, and Dr. Diane Thompson, medical director of Queen's Women's Health Center.

Reservations are required and cost is $30 per person. The session starts at 8 a.m. For information on reservations, call 447-3542.

The session is one of many events planned for October, which is domestic violence awareness month nationally.
